- Board meeting WAEH – 10.00 – 12.00 AM
- Visit Aier Eye Hospital Group: visit the labs, museums, check out the waiting rooms etc. – 14.00 – 16.45 PM
- Member Meeting 17.00 – 18.00 PM
Saturday November 9
- Location: Aier Eye Hospital, Changsha
- WAEH Annual meeting Day II and exhibition from 09.00 AM – 18.00 PM
- Annual Meeting with presentations at Aier Eye Hospital
Sunday November 10
- Location: Aier Eye Hospital, Changsha
- Annual Meeting with presentations at Aier Eye Hospital from 09.00 AM – 18.00 PM
Monday November 11
- Morning – Charity Run on Orange Island
- Afternoon – Take bullet train to Shanghai (7 hours) – please provide Maaike with a copy of your passport
- Afternoon – Fly to Shanghai (2 hours) – please book your own ticket
Tuesday November 12
Location: Shanghai, China
- Visit Eye & Ent Hospital Shanghai (organized) from 09.30 AM – 13.00 PM

Hosts of the 18th Annual Meeting
The hosts of this event are the Aier Eye Hospital in Changsha and at the Shanghai Eye and ENT Hospital in Shanghai, China.
How to get to Changsha
- Fly into Shanghai Pudong Airport (PVG)
- Keep in mind to have 4 hours in between arrival in Shanghai and departure to Changsha
- Fly to Changsha
If you do not want to re-checkin the luggage, choose Changsha as your flying destination.
If you want to stick to your preferred airline, make sure you choose the flight departures from Shanghai Pudong.
There are also 2 very big airports in Beijing, Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) and Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX), make sure your connect flight departures the same airport you arrive. If it is the first time transfer in Beijing, save at least 4 hours.

- Check Requirements: Please consult the guidelines specific to your country to determine if you need a visa.
Action Required:
- Check Your Visa Requirements: Verify whether you need a visa for China based on your nationality.
- Send Documentation: Please send a picture of your passport and the intended length of your stay in China to Maaike.
- Invitation Letters: Maaike, along with the Aier team, will assist in issuing the necessary invitation letters for your visa application.

Tips for travelling
- Bring some cash money
- Get your VISA before you enter China
- Buy a VPN before you arrive in China
- Print your hotel confirmation in Chinese!
- Try to learn some simple Chinese phrases before traveling
- Be prepared for squat toilets and bring a pack of tissues or toilet paper everywhere!
Changsha Sightseeing Tips
- Yuelu Mountain: A scenic spot with beautiful views and historical significance.
- Orange Island (Juzizhou): A lovely riverside park with great walking paths and views of the city. Also the location for the Charity Run on 11 November.
- Hunan Provincial Museum: A cultural highlight with exhibits on the region’s history and heritage, including the famous Mawangdui Han Tombs.

- Plans for 2024 – 2025?
- Short overview of the facts of your hospital
Timeline: all posters have to be digitally send to Maaike van Zuilen before November 1, 2024.

- Please note that the poster can be used for communications and marketing of the WAEH. If you do not agree, please state that when submitting your digital poster.
